i did the same on mine. the tan cloth was worn and dirty. i replaced the rear parcel shelf with black felt. did the rear speaker covers as well. i pulled the door inserts and covered them with the same black felt. it relly pulls the dash into the doors in my opinion.
easy enough to do. the old material came off pretty easy and a little sanding made them ready to spray down the adhesive.
one thing i did learn, i pulled the c-pillars and pulled off the old headliner material. i wanted to do them black to match the a and b pillars (not an issue with your convert). i found a black vinyl to use. i had a problem getting around some of the curves in the pillars so i will need to redo it with something more plyable. however, i will be replacing the door felt with the black vinyl now. then the texture will match the dash. btw, i would not go with the perforated leather as adhesive would come through and any dirt will accumulate in the perforations. just a thought. otherwise, i think it really dresses up the car. the old tan-faded-to-peach color had to go....
i can send photos if you would like to see.
