Thanks. Some of the scratches are fine enough that you can't really feel them (and those are the ones that end to have a bunch of fine scratches together- you can tell the motion I used to scrub the car clean!), but a few are deep & long enough that you can feel them with a finger (don't need to use a fingernail). Luckily the worst one is on the roof (least noticeable.) They're not horrendous or very noticeable, but it's one of those things- if you look, you see them. Again, very bummed that this happened to a car that has been kept in such good shape (I've only had it 7 months!) BTW, my buffer is from Lowes... a GMC 10" orbital buffer... model P10ULBB, .75amp, 3200rpm - not overly powerful. I've used it on my boat twice and once on each of my other cars w/ no problems. Regardless, I think I'll start the route of hand polishes since it's just a few select areas affected. (amazing I didn't notice the mortar chunks in the rag- and under the suds certainly couldn't see scratches! Hate learning lessons the hard way.) Thanks!!!
