The swirls do not come from the wax or protectant you choose, but in how it is applied and subsequently how the car is washed/dried.

Application: I have read that an up-down approach on the side panels causes less apparent swirling, as the sun's rays are reflected/refracted in a common direction left/right, and for some reason you don't see as much of the halo effect. Either way, use a CLEAN applicator, making sure there is no grit on the surface.

Wash/dry: I hate watching the car places dry cars, as they take a dry or semi-dry towel (but almost certainly not microfiber) and use a buffing technique...practically guaranteed to cause swirling. If you can, see if you can arrange to get the car out of the wash line after the final rinse and dry it yourself, using microfiber (MF) towels. The key is to lay the towel on the water and absorb it by blotting...not rubbing. Take several towels for this purpose...MF absorbs tons more than regular cotton, but the blotting technique with a plain cotton towel will provide the same results...you just have to use more...

Clay Bar: IMHO it's not *necessary* on a new car...it does have magical properties when applies to a 24 month old surface, though.

Brands: I was a Klasse user for several years, but it's been reformulated to meet new (2006) emissions regs. It apparently isn't as long-lasting, at least to those that post over at Roadfly...go there for all your answers...or for complete confusion...
