I had a blow out on the front left and at another time, on the rear left on a 85' SAAB 900 T16. With the front, I thought I heard/felt something one late night coming home from a night out in Phoenix (Pirelli P6) but the car felt fine. I drove all the way home without feeling a thing, I was doing 95 MPH! When I got home, I decided to give a quick inspection of the tires and to my surprise I had a hole on the sidewall about the size of a golfball. Funny though, the tire still looked like it had some air in it, I mean, it wasn't riding on the rim. You could clearly see inside the tire with a flashlight. The rear was a different story... I heard a noise like a wheel bearing going bad, so I pulled over to investigate and the read was totally blown. The car still felt stable on the highway, though.
