What I think you fail to realize is that Saab has been sharing platforms for years. Since atleast the NG900 as far as I know. They still use platforms that are shared amongst different brands. To my thinking, if the platform is good, why not use it? Just because the underside is the same as a subaru doesn't mean that the exterior and interior won't be truly Saab design. I think Saab knows that if they just simply rebadge the WRX, they will loose a lot of respect, and they will also lose customers. I look forward to seeing what the designers actually come up with in the
9-2. As for the SUV, I feel they will do much the same as with the 9-2. They are going to use the platform, which in reality is just a bunch of steel bars most of which is never seen. I think they can do a great job of making it look like Saab, and I would hazard a guess that they would put Saab engines in the truck as well. Maybe a derivative of the 3.0 v-6 turbo. This is all speculation on my part, but I think Saab knows not to let us Saab faithful down.
