If you think of a wagon as a sedan with an extended roof line then it's not a wagon. But if you look at a wagon as a taller sedan with lots of capacity, then the Pacifica is a wagon.
But if it's not a wagon, what is it? I've only seen one on the road and didn't get a good look, but I'd call it a wagon. It's just not the old definition or look of wagon. What is the Infinifi wagon thing or the Nissan Murano? They aren't SUVs, either, at least not in the traditional sense Is the Toyota Highlander a wagon or an SUV?

I think a lot of people who buy SUVs or minivans come to appreciate the load height these vehicles allow but want a different image. Something like the Pacifica would seem to be a reasonable choice. You get a lower center of gravity, improve the handling, retain most of the carrying capacity of a van/SUV.
For example: my daughter and a couple of friends do dog showing and you have to carry a lot of stuff--dog crates, folding tables, roller dollies, chairs, pop-up shelters, etc, etc. You can stack dog crates in a minivan or SUV but not in a wagon (like a Saab or Volvo). Vertical height makes a huge difference in utility of a vehicle.
IMHO the Pacifica should have real potential, especially if DC has paid attention to seating and handling.
