Statements on 9-3SS Platform All Wrong!!!! Posted by Ian Glenday [Email] (#95) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ian Glenday) on Tue, 6 May 2003 08:11:17 In Reply to: Pics aren't accurate, but I'm expecting something nice:, Redmilk, Mon, 5 May 2003 23:36:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The following statement made on the 9-3SS platform and "underpinnings" is so wrong!!!! Saab was a lead in the design of the Epsilon platform and the suspension components that have been released publicly by Saab are also unique to the Saab 9-3SS. To say it is based on these cars is all incorrect. This misinformation does nothing to help the Saab brand. The 9-3SS does have Saab characterisitics because it was designed by Saab from the ground up.
I would also like to add that since Saab is one of the exceptions to the current GM sales losses (I believe Hummer is the other) perhaps GM should look to Saab for how to sell more cars rather than pressure Saab to come into the fold. There is something wrong with that picture.

"Let's not forget what the all new 9-3SS is based on, the cheeeeeeeeeesy 2004 Malibu, Malibu Maxx, and Grand Prix. I think we can all agree that GM did a great job in keeping the Saab identity while using a corporate chassis and underpinnings."
