is a true Saab-only dealer. Actually, If I remember correctly, they were a Saab-Subaru dealer up 'till 1980 or so... The owner of the dealership was known for treating his customers extremely well. I remember driving my folks' 1972 SAAB 96 up there (in 1986) for a rough idle (when they were actually in New Salem) and the price for having the carbs adjusted or some similar 10-minute fix was "no parts, go home."
Recently, I stopped by the parts counter for a brake caliper bolt for my '86 SPG, and they didn't have any in stock. No problem, they loaned me a breaker bar and the correct socket and pointed me in the direction of a parts car in the back lot.
Obviously, they don't give everything away for free, and I have paid "dealer price" for some parts, and even service before I started to D-I-Y (or is that D-I-Me?) Any way you slice it, I'd trust this dealership to do any major or minor service to any 1980+ SAAB these days. However, for those of us with older cars (9000 on back), I'd also recommend Keith Lorette. He used to be the service manager at New Salem, and now has an Independant garage. Look him up in the yellow pages- he will treat you fairly at the very least.
