On 4/29 my 99 93 SE was burnt to death by a brush fire. When I called to
report the incident I was told that I had 30 days of rental use. Meanwhile I have been very diligent getting everything into the insurance
company. I follow up daily. I go and get the fire report myself since their vendor who is supposed to request it took a week and half to do the
request. And today (pardon the pun) I get burned. The rental agency called me 1) because they wanted me to come by tonight and turn in the MiniVan and get another car(When I went to get the rental they had 3 cars a ecno box, a minivan or a Volvo that I could spend an extra $10 a day on. Like they didn't expect me to shell out the money for a Volvo. To bad for them I'm a cheapskate.)2) They wanted to remind me that Liberty Mutual is only paying until Sunday. Huh! That is not 30 days. When I called Liberty Mutual I was told that they will only pay or a rental until they give me my payoff check. So basically I should have let them mess around and take longer to get everything arrange so I would have longer to locate a car. I am trying to get a 2002 SE through an independent that goes to auctions. I insisted on speaking with a manager who was very rude and even commented that I had failed to send him paperwork that I sent 15 days ago. Though I also think they were ticked off because I was able to get a more detailed fire report that showed I was not at fault for this fire so I will not hav to pay a deductable.
