I driven MANY miles in one over the past year. Mostly on bus. trips from NC to N.Ohio through the mountains on I-77. Trailblazer? trashbasket. It sit too high, doesn't hold anywhere near what the advertisements claim, under powered, the electronic engine management takes all throttle control away. In a snow storm in Cleveland, before they got around to plowing the roads, tried to get through a snow bank about 1 ft high. The thing wouldn't do it. Police helped by pushing, one of them said "floor it" at the high point of their rocking, I said "it IS floored", the stupid traction control wouldn't let the engine spin up to drag itself out. Stayed at an idle all the time even when the accellerator was pegged. The issue of driving I-77 through WV is another issue entirely. This is a piece of interstate that rambles though the West Virginia mountains. Part of it is posted at 60 mph while the remainder is 70 mph. Very nice high speed twisties with a separate lane for the trucks. In my SPG or VDP I cruise them a ~75, that slow only because I have clean license and like it that way. This Trailblazer thing is terrifying at anything over 60 mph. It understeers, AND the back end hangs out at the same time. I'm absolutely drenched with sweat after the 20 miles of twisties. Constantly on the brakes, hoping I didn't push it too far, and waiting for the thing to roll over. Even the tractor trailors can go faster on that piece of road! One of the worst things about it is that if you get on the brakes in a turn, the outside front suspension dips about 6 inches with the diagonal rear corner rising up. You'd swear that you're going over. And it doesn't have to be at speed. Twenty mph is enough.
In parting I'll say that I'm very glad I don't own the POS, and feel very sorry for those that do. (and their insurance companies)
