Agree with the others, your computer is beyond upgrading. You'll be better off to purchase a new one. Check out http://www.micropro.com . I normally build custom PCs using their configurator, but they do offer some pre-built systems if you're not up to that challenge. I cannot usually find better prices than what they offer.

Mac... welllll, they ARE great machines. They're the best going for graphics and video, but they are pricey and the software/hardware is not readily available like a Wintel box. Let's face it, it's an IBM clone/Microsoft world. (BTW... I've had two Macs, but I'm now using Win/AMD exclusively)

I agree also, that you will be better off having your digital pictures created at a photo lab rather than printing them on your own. I suggest use of one of the internet sites like http://www.ofoto.com . They allow you to upload your images to thier server, then you can order only the prints you want and have them mailed to you in short order. The prints are not expensive and the quality is great. An added benefit is allowing others to view your pictures and place orders for themselves. This will require a computer upgrade to get some USB ports (2.0) and some decent storage space (I would suggest a secondary hard drive). I'm sure that you'll want to archive all your pictures, regardless of whether you have a printed copy. If you don't want to forever lose your digital images after you have them printed, you'll have to have a computer of some sort to keep them on.

The HP PSC2210 is a pretty good machine. It'll do a decent job of printing pictures for you along with the myriad of other things it can do, but if you high quality, long lasting prints, use one of the ofotoesque services.
