It's not the tint film, it's the *adhesive* that'll drive you nuts!
Typically the film will come off fairly easily, but there will be a lot of adhesive "goop" left behind. Naturally you must be careful NOT to use any type of scraper, or the defroster wires will be damaged (assuming this is the rear window).
What I ended up using was a rag (cloth, not paper) soaked in either alcohol or paint thinner (can't remember which) which removed the goop pretty easily.
