I haven't driven a vector... (yet) but in terms of marketing issues alone they should have a higher HP engine now... if their target is who they say iot is, they are coming to bat ill prepared.... it isn;t as if they dont; already have the ability to do this... underpowered sports cars get the boot.. I'n not sure what the feel of the Vector is, but waiting until 2005 for an engine that hits a high mark they extablished years ago seems short sighted... so many car makers get you in the door with excitement, even though many people don;t end up sprining for it and buy a lesser equiped model.. Having the higher HP car isn;t about selling that car, its about drawing eyes and feet into the showroom... Anyone pointing to the Viggen as an exaqmple of why not to do it due to weak sale, should take into consideration that if they had put the Viggen together correctly, the negative press would have been stellar press and the car would have been a winner in more camps... considering the minimal cost to have made the Viggen better ( tires and suspension components ala the VRK ) Saab really bungled the potential the Viggen did have.. drives me nuts whena concept gets poo poo'd for poor execution... :)
