i.e., no shared platform development, no shared engines, minimally shared parts (valve stems, relays, fuses and light bulbs) just a home-grown product. And one that despite the legends virtually forced a "for sale" sign on the door. When the 9000 was sold along side, the 900 cost more to build but sold for less. Saab lacked the resources to develop a new and competitive replacement while efforts to keep the old girl "current" stretched the engineering department. I'd say the 9-3 SS is the last "True Saab" - so far at least...
