All I can say is WOW does New Jersey have some incredible beaches!!! I was shocked to see the WHITE sand there!! I never realized that the Jersey shore was so beautiful!!!
We left Friday morning & returned Sunday night. Stuck in contstruction traffic on the way there, and Tapanzee Bridge traffic on the way back. Managed to wear through the indicators on my front brakes & had to listen to this awful screeching metal on metal sound....makes your skin crawl. Everyone was probably ready to toss us off the bridge. I've been told that usually with Saab 9-3's, when you replace the front brakes the rotors usually need to be replaced as well. Is this true? My brakes are being done tomorrow, so I have to suffer another 24 hours with this terrible noise.
Anyway, we went on a road trip to Wildwood & stayed in a hotel that was awful. I guess I won't name it on here, but did anyone ever hear of having to put a deposit down on a TV remote because guests like to steal them? Or, no hand towels in your room because guests steal them to use on their cars? Or, the shower puts out extremely hot water on both full hot & full cold setting? (Actually had a warning sign stuck to the mirror about this) and, the hotel has ice buckets in the room, but no ice machine. They'll sell you a bag of ice. They open their pool around 11am-12pm and close it around 5pm. The place is old, so there is a "technique" to opening your hotel room door....even with utilizing the "technique" it took about 5 minutes to get into the room.
Other than that, we had a great time - the 9-3 provided a wonderful, comfortable ride (until the brake thing) and we saw 7 lighthouses. The one I got the biggest kick out of was Absecon in Atlantic City. A lighthouse surrounding by projects & large casinos. Usually when I photograph lighthouses you see water & boats, this time, you see huge casinos. I love it. We had to drive through with our doors locked, though...
Woo hoo New Jersey!!!! The driver's weren't too bad, but I wish they had more traffic lights with turn arrows. I can't wait to take another road trip but to the Sandy Hook area this time.
