I havent seen many women driving the aforementioned SUVs here in Vancouver and believe me there are A LOT of them around - X5s and RX330s that is.
I dont for the life of me believe Saab will sell 1000 of these monstrosities in a year never mind 5000-15000. My argument is that the luxury SUV market ie XC90, X5 and RX330 have an element of driver enjoyment built in as they are derived from cars and can command a price premium. They also use EXCELLENT quality materials inside, especially the Volvo which I have NEVER seen in any US built SUV - even the Cadillac SRX. The only way Saab has a chance of selling the 9-7 is to aim them at the US alternatives and not even mention the car-based SUVs in advertising and hold their breath.
Now the 9-2 is a different story, I think they are onto a winner if they get the price right and nowhere near the rumoured USD25000-USD30000 range. Id buy a 9-3 if I had that USD25000 to spend on a Saab but then again how many USD25000 9-3s are there, NOT MANY? Here in Vancouver, where a base 9-3 costs CAD35900, it is near impossible to find a 9-3 Linear at anything less than CAD39500. The 9-2 Aero really interests me, as long as it looks like a Saab and has some Saab interior bits-and-pieces.
