Interesting to play with some numbers
BMW sold 12702 in Canada for 2002, Saab sold less than 2500 cars in Canada in the same period.
BMW sold 213127 in the US for 2002, Saab sold 37500 or so as I recall in the same period.
So Saab sells 19% of the total number of cars in Canada that BMW does
And Saab accomplishes 17.6% of BMW sales in the US.
These numbers are pretty close and show slightly better relative market share in Canada I suppose.
More interestingly, on a population adjusted basis, both Saab and BMW sales are about 60% of what they are in the US. Probably similar to many northern European countries I imagine. Luxo cars just don't sell as well here becasue of the hgher marginal tax rates that make it harder to get really rich.
