It was about 1AM about 2 days after I got my high school diploma. I was returning home from a Skinny Puppy concert with a pal. The dear was running across the highway and I saw a glimpse of it before I slammed it. The deer flew over the right lane, breakdown lane, grass, and up onto an exit ramp. My car was totalled, and my buddy and I are lucky to be alive. Had that deer come back into the windshield instead of off to the side, I wouldn't be here today. The car was mangled.

I managed to pull it off the road under speed. Luckily we didn't hit a ditch or other traffic. We were quite lucky on that one...

The cop offered me the carcass if we filled out the proper paperwork. By the time my dad came and picked us up and we filled out the accident stuff it was 4AM, so we let the deer go to someone on the roadkill waiting list. I sh*t you not, there's a waiting list in southern Ohio.
