Well folks, 2 SAABs will be at a new home in Emeryville!!! I will move from Cleveland to Emeryville in August. I got a 6 month lease at a good rate (the locals say it's good, anyway). We're very near BART, a bus line to school (for the wife), Ikea, the bay bridge, highways...
Over that 6 month lease I plan to learn the area and then find an affordable 2 bedroom condo somewhere in the east bay. Walnut Creek is a contender. Someone kept plugging San Leandro. I also need to check out Alameda. Lake Merritt may have a thing or 2.
So, where's a good SAAB mechanic around there? I saw a SAAB/Subaru dealer in Oaktown on Broadway. Anything in Berkeley? Along the 880? My commute will be from Emeryville to Fremont and Pleasanton. I need to be able to call AAA and get to nearby (good) shops, in a pinch.
Anyone in the bay area have a little garage space I can borrow for storage? In return you would have free use of a floor jack, big bunch of tools, small air compressor, impact wrench, jack stands, and my C900 expertise. I also have factory 9-3 manuals on CD and some working knowledge under the hood... I'll trade tool storage for a little wrenching.
