It is disconcerting to see that they got your mailing address.
It is also unfortunate that we are all being bombarded with advertising, from spam email to junk snailmail to telephone solicitation. Never mind all the roadside "temporary" signs advertising everything from weight loss to work at home "opportunities". Gaakkkkkkkkkk!
My advice would be to send a copy of the letter on to your congressman. Public outcry got the telemarketer's 'no call' list implemented... maybe the same could happen for snailmail. They have such a system in Germany for snailmail and it works well.
