I bought a Compaq 1500 series laptop 1.4Ghz P4, 15", 40gig HD, 64mb Graphics card, CD-RW/DVD and 512DDR ram in November of last year. Since then I have had to send it in to Compaq repair facility 6 (yes SIX) times for repair. There have been times which I have sent it in for it to be returned to me not even fixed, or pieces missing...just to send it off the next day. They offer no in-house support or repair for it either. I have grown extremely upset with their service and repair facility.

A week ago I recieved a call from a rep there in referance to the last time I sent it in (2 weeks ago). He told me that it would cost $1300 to repair the LCD screen. I sent it in for the CD-ROM drive for the 3 consecutive time, and this is what they call to tell me!? I told him that it must have been damaged in shipping and that I refuse to pay that much, if any, for that repair. He(( I bought the thing for that much...lol.

I got a call yesterday from him saying that they are going to send me my old computer back unrepaired, and then asked me to fax them a detailed list of my computer specs so that he can build another with similar specs and send it to me...fianlly after almost 4 months of not having my laptop, and spending coutless hours and hours on the phone...

Does anyone have any horror stories with Compaq or other repairs?
