Follo-Up, I went ahead and got the E-Bay amp, I took Posted by Wil W [Email] (#1148) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Wil W) on Thu, 14 Aug 2003 09:48:04 In Reply to: OT: OEM BMW Amplifier Advice., Wil W [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 12 Aug 2003 14:19:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
my car to a local Stereo installer and he advised me that because it is OEM, the system is like on 1-ohm, so nothing aftermarket would fit with it. So it was replace pretty much the entire system, or I would have to go to import place to get components. Also to find out what's wrong, he would have to check each speaker (at the speaker, 9 speakers) individually because of cross-overs to find what might be bad. He suggested I go to a local bone-yard to pick up one, but thought it'll run $50-75, which may still be cheaper than him trying to find out what's wrong and then fixing it.
Just wanted to give an update...

Thanks for thoughts anyway, as for my experience, I have had tons of great advice from this board for my 2 Saabs, as well, I have even started doing some of my own maintenance/repairs on the Saabs because I was able to get fantastic advice and instructions from this board. Thanks to all who contribute to the board, and especially to Scott for keeping it going.
