My older daughter is going to be a senior at Union. My dad went to RPI on the GI bill after WW2.

If you have the time, have you thought about taking US 20 through New York State instead of I-90?

It would involve an overnight, but cheap hotels abound along that route, which, IMHO, is one of most scenic cross-country roads in the country, especially through NY. Windows down, clean air. Nice roads. Lots of time for reflection...

If you gotta joust with the semi's and desparados on the Interstate , at least stop at Dinosaur BBQ (see link) in downwtown Syracuse. Worth a detour. More soul-satisfying than choosing between McD's and BK.
