The NG-900's and 9-3's have a known history of problems in deep water. The snorkle behind the head lamp must get a wave of water pushed into it.
The 9-5's, or at least my '03, appears to have the intake routed up infront of the rad and up high near the top of the rad. This may help in deep water, but if you are pushing a wave with the front of the vehicle or a wave washes up there its going to be a problem.
After huricanes and floods there are always problems with Saabs that were written off as flood salvage magically getting titles in another state. These then have lots of problems with electronics. Salt water contamination stays in place and the damage keeps happening.
If you ever get a vehicle that was once salvage status, your insurance policy probably has a clause stating that you might not have any loss coverage, if they ever find out. They don't like the liabiltiy of a salvage vehicle on the road either.
