They maintain a presence here and are constantly testing different cars here. They usually get sent back to France after a while though. They also maintain a parts warehouse in Allentown, PA, where I am able to get anything I need for my '89 405 Mi16 (see the link below). Everything is distributed through a Caterpillar (as in the tractor) distribution network.

There are ongoing rumors of Peugeot coming back to the US, and a loyal user base that love their 504, 505 and 405's..myself included. The parts business is clearly profitable, which is why they keep it going. And it's good business for a loyal customer base too.
