My dad's first two cars back in the ealy 60s were both Chrysler products. Based on the records I came across as a kid in the basement many years later it looks like the car was so poorly made it literally had to be reassembled. Repairs of all sorts, letters to the dealer, letters to the manufacture and very little concern or response. Undoubtedly it was because of these cars that my dad gave up on American cars and bought our first SAAB (1966 95). That was pretty much the end of new American Cars in our family except for a few 4x4s purchased for heavy duty towing and off road usage.
