The RIAA is doomed. They are also using strong arm tactics that will ultimately backfire.

The law suits are mere publicity. The RIAA does not want to see any of these cases go to trial because the legal grounds are not solid. If they lose even one case the house of cards falls down.

Helping people to defend against these law suits because the RIAA is attempting to reduce the public's access to information is good. I am not sure that this conicides with the reason the DownwardBattle exists, even though it may share the same desired outcome.
File sharing music that and artist does not release to the public is still a theft.

Do not lose site of the real threat here, it is not the loss of the ability of file share music, it is the loss of the ability to go to the public library or share documents and thoughts about our Saabs, a la George Orwell's 1984.

I hope this is not too political for Saabnet. The subject has ramifications for us too, think ECU tuning, or Saab literature hosted by Saabnet sponsors.
