Thanks Steve, I have been reading this bb for the last 3 weeks and have found it a very useful source. At first it was a little disconcerting with all of the problems that were being discussed - but then it became apparent that most continue to praise the cars - including reliability and saftey (not to mention the fun factor!) I have been using autotrader.ca to track most of the available cars and prices. There seem to be many 2000 9-5s and since this was a year for significant upgrades they are likely a good value. I also want to consider looking at a 2002 to get the next set of upgrades - and more warrenty. However, that would most likely need to be a lease return or something, and there do not seem to be many of those on the market.
How important is it to get a certified vehicle? Do you know if these are only availble from SSI dealerships? I assume GM dealerships are not allowed to touch the saabs. Too bad.
Thanks, I will check out the local club and enroll later this week.
Good luck with your search for an independent. There seem to be some keen users in the Guelph-Kitchener area - but that may be too far for you.
