Case x Case; Confessions of a Tailgater

Well, I do tend to tailgate a bit. But only when trafic conditions at least partly warrant it, in my opinion. For example, in my morning partially bumper to bumper reverse commute down Chicago's I90 (from the city out to the OHare area) in the far left lane I tailgate when there are these jokers who knowing full well there is a ton of traffic backed up behind them decide to drive at 20 miles per hour when the opporutnity finally begins to arise to drive at a normal highway speed. Why, why, why? I want to say to them, the Lord has opened up the traffic and now we may move our cars at normal speed. Why are you, fair commuter, going only half the speed you may easily go? Do you not know that you are keeping the rest of us in the un-godly traffic conditions that you have just come out of! So, you know, I tailgate them. It actually works pretty well. It's also easy to do with the Sport mode on;) Most simply start going faster themselves, thereby improving the traffic flow not just for me but for others behind us, or they blessedly move into one of the right lanes... When I learned to drive at age 15 in 1988 it was clearly stated over and over in driving school that the left lane was for people going a little faster. My prayer to the Man Above each night is that everyone not going a little faster will get out of the left lane. Anyway, thanks for reading my rant!
