During this weekend, I went on extended test drives with a friend considering similar cars--we went to various dealerships on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The short list consisted of the 9-5 Aero, 9-3SS Arc, the BMW 330i, and the Audi A4 3.0. After more test driving the choice was between the 9-5 Aero and the BMW330i.

My friend bought the BMW. Although the 9-5 Aero is a really good deal, the BMW's overall refinement and combination of handling and power--and year-end discount--sealed the deal. Both cars were 2003.

I would have leaned more toward the Saab simply because of the incentives, but my friend liked the feel of the BMW more than the 9-5 Aero. The styling was also a deal-sealer.
