but was just a few minutes too late. I saw the Saab Press Release Video last night (go to Saab USA's web site or see postings from yesterday) and in the video it looks quite good. Video is nearly 10 minutes long and highlights all the current & future car products, no 9-7 viewing.

Key is in the steering column - guess we shouldn't be surprised. Exterior looks much better than WRX - smoother, and all parts (hood scoop, rear spolier, etc.) appear to flow into the main design rather than be tack-ons like the WRX. No shots of the interior other than one of central dash. It looks better in photo than the dash of my relative's Imprezza, but no info on rest of interior.

A co-worker did see the 9-2X without realizing exactly what it was (described it to me as small Saab with sloping station-wagon back). He was impressed and his first thought was as a car for his college age daughter - "relatively small, probably inexpensive to operate, and lots of space for her s**t", or words like that.
