as Saab is busy with the 9-2, 9-3X, Hatch and 9-7. So the 9-5 line is essentially left as is and will be until the rebadged/new cars are up and running.
The only thing the 9-5 can have without much work is an ECU upgrade as now the 2004 Arc has. The Aero engine can easily go up to 300HP with simple reprogramming and minor plumbing changes. However, putting those power and TORQUE on the ground may prove problematic. Suspension improvement may help in handling the increased power/torque, but up to a point. As Maxima and TL are essentially at the front drive car HP/torque limit.
Acura TL puts out 270HP but it has less torque than the current Aero engine. It is torque that gives you the get up and go response not HP.
