Just rented a Pontiac Grand Prix..quite a POS +

Hadn't driven a Pontiac in a while, so I rented one at BWI for a round trip to Leesburg VA. Glad it wasn't any further!
The Good:
The radio adjusted volume based on ambient noise. It got louder under full throttle or on highway, softer at lights and around town.
Nice to have manual controls for heat and A/C instead of an ACC (personal bias)
Good cupholders.
Fair brakes but good ABS.
The Bad:
> Seats that seemed fine for the 1st 20 mins became uncomfortable after that. Too soft bottoms, weak lumbar support, tight side bolsters (for me, anyway--6'2" 200 lbs)
> Vague steering with little on-center feel. Easy to drift in a lane without realizing it, so I had to pay attention to just steering the car straight. (Lots of domestics are like this, IMHO).
> Numb road feel.
> Terrible outward visibility, especially for "over-the-shoulder" checks on surrounding traffic. Felt like I was in a cave.
> OK off-the-line acceleration, mediocre passing performance.
> Cheap plastic everywhere in the interior.
Was VERY glad to turn it in.
Thanks,
Noel
