I installed one recently on my 2000 9-5 lpt. My OEM muffler had rusted through in two spots and while searching for replacements I found a 9-5 sport exhaust system (official Saab) in an internet auction that was only $7 more than just the OE Saab replacement muffler! Seller was a Saab dealer.

Since your car is a 2000 also, I assume your OEM system is needing replacement too. I realize our cars are different models, but FWIW, here is what I discovered while replacing my exhaust 9-5 system.

1) Old system was very easy to remove. Even with nearly 4 years and 90,000 miles of use, the nuts unscrewed easily with only a spray of liquid wrench and a few minutes of soak time. Saab specifies fantastic fasteners!

2) An individual would be best to remove the entire old system even if they were just planning to replace the muffler. Not enough room under the car to cut the old pipe where needed to fit a replacement muffler. Better to cut the old pipe and fit-up the new muffler while pipe is laying beside the car in full light and with ample room.

3) The OEM mid-pipe was nearly pristine. If not for the great price I received on the full performance system I would have felt bad about tossing the old mid-pipe away.
