Apparently we are now "weird" because we like the uniqueness, err, "weirdness", of our cars. And I'd like to know where the "always" in "The firm has always used other people's engines" comes from. ALWAYS?? Umm, no? Let me translate these statements for you: "We don't want Saab to be Saab anymore, we want it to be duplicates of every other GM car now. Saab is 'weird', Chevy is not." That is the mentanlity seen here. Now I understand that without GM, there most likely would be no Saab anymore and that GM has helped Saab make tons of money, but Ford isn't calling Jaguar "weird", are they????
