I'm ditching my audio antiques (Denon DCD-1420 CD player, Nakamichi AV-2S ProLogic receiver, Yamaha KX500 cassette deck, Boston Acoustics Sub/Sat 6 speakers). Plan is to rebuild from ground up starting with speakers and amplification (keeping CD player until I decide which DVD player I want).
Speakers listened and considered are:
Monitor Audio Silver 6
Totem Arro or Staff
NHT ST4
B&W DM603 S3
Linn Katan
Amplification considered are:
Cyrus 6
NAD C370
Roksan Kandy MkIII
Rotel RA-02
Cambridge Audio 640
I'm a 2-channel guy and not a home theatre guy so if I'm watching movies I'm happy with 2-channel sound. Most importance is music reproduction. I've listend to all of the above and like them a lot but in different stores and with different configurations so it's difficult to listen to all possible combinations and permutations thus "level the playing field" as it were. Each speaker and amplifier has its pros/cons but I'm nearing total quandary in my decisions. Any general advice most appreciated !
