So, yesterday, while my fiancee and I were at work, the house was broken into. Entered through the garage, and broke into the house from there.
A mix of things stolen, Electronics, jewelry, but what's really curious is some of them were also left.
Damage to the house includes scratching of Pergo floor, which doesn't buff out, and a ruined door from the garage to the house.
Damage also includes dents and a scratch to my other car, which was in the garage.
Fortunately, nobody was home, and our pets weren't harmed.
I've reported the breakin to the Home insurance Company, and to my car insurance company, and Police are investigating.
I'm looking for advice on (1) how to ensure I am adequately compensated by the Insurance companies for the damage to the house (the Pergo scratches will not buff out...) and also the damage to the car (scratched lightly all along the drivers side, dent on the drivers door from a table that was pushed or fell against it, dent on hood).
(2) Anybody got any ideas on scouring local pawn shops, etc. to see if any of the items were turned in?
Thanks in advance...
