Anyone know TV repair or info source?

I've got a 11yr old Sony 27" TV which has just started acting up. My 7yr old double clicked the on switch manually, and it went on and off then would not go on again. Next day I switched it on, and it came on for a minute, then quit, then came back on for a few seconds, and has not worked since.
It sounds like the switch is working, at least it makes a little 'clink' sound when you turn it on, but no picture or sound. Almost seems like a circuit breaker or something on the fritz.
If I can fix this myself, I'd love to, and there seems to be a lot of expertise on this board, and I'm willing to take the back off if I knew what to look for. Not a lot of electronics experience however.
In leiu, or in addition to advise, is there a good website for these kinds of questions?
Thanks
