I agree. This SUV bash threads are tiring.
You will like the Z71 Tahoe. We came from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee to a Tahoe in 2000 and the Subruban Z71 in 2002. The Z71 Suburban is used to tow our boat and the family. Ours has 20K miles on it and has treated us very well -- I have never been to the dealer for anything. I get around 16-18 MPG which isn't too terrible given its size. I get about 13 MPG during towing duty (4500 lb boat). After buying the Tahoe/Subruban I will never buy a regular SUV -- I get no worse gas mileage in the Suburban and the wider wheelbase makes for suprisingly good handling for an SUV - very stable and much better than the Cherokee. About the only thing it could use is some larger brakes which tend to fade under load.
The Viggen coupe is my other car. I like to drive it fast so I don't get much better fuel mileage than the Suburban;)
Whats funny is the biggest fuel burner I have ever owned was an Audi allroad -- so much for those efficent wagon/crossover concepts. LOL.
