Last week, it was finally nice enough (weather) in Michigan. I took out my red '91 SPG out of storage and drove down to Troy, MI (80 minutes on I75). Felt great. No other car like it in Michigan (I haven't seen another SPG on the road in the last 12 years I lived in Michigan). Anyways, about 20 minutes from my destination (cruising 85mph effortlessly in 70 mph limited highway, sorry!), I see myself spewing big white cloud behind me. Oh NO! Luckily, an exit was nearby and stopped on the ramp to check it out. Right away, a guy in Jeep Cherokee stops and offers his assistance. Since I always carry a full set of tools with me, I want to find out what the probem is first. So I ask for his cell phone # and told him that I may need help a little later. He gladly gave his number to me and told me that he lives 10 minutes away and will be able to help later. Wow! So anyways, I comb through the engine bay and found the culprit. One of those small 90 deg bent coolant hose next to the turbo blew out. Odd size. I didn't carry that one with me and the hose was too small for the splice kit. So I called,'Daniel' and he came and gave me a ride to and from nearest Autozone. Great guy (he drives an SUV :)). Thank you Daniel!
