Works for some. Myself, I don't have the same problems any more. Did the 'snapper' of and off for years. Massage really helped a lot. You will get an eval first visit and X-rays will uncover some issues and guide things from there.

The jets on a hot tub can work well. When they hit a tender muscle, you will know what to do.

Nerves get raw and inflamed and they get constricted in inflamed tissue that causes muscle tightness, which creates a viscious circle. Taking ibuprofin round the clock for a few days might help with its anti inflamitory effects. There are some other NSAIDs that work well too. Some are by script. And there are some muscle relaxants that can help. The 'snapper' will not direct you to perscription drugs in most cases. You may need to see a physician. Learn what works, no one is better qualified for this than you!

Stretching is need to help interupt tension.

If you work at a terminal a lot, watch your posture! And your head should not be leaning forwards. That puts the muscles at the back of the neck under constant tension. You may have to raise your monitor or raise a laptop and use a separate keyboard and mouse.

The worst is slouching, back bent out, shoulders dropped, leaning forwards and tipping the neck back, wrists taking body weight. A low monitor can encourage that habit. I saw a full body X-ray of some one sitting in that postion. When you see what that does to the bones its a shock.
