I've had a 90' 9kt CD and loved every bit of it. When I bought my '97 NG900 it took me a long time to adjust as I missed the roominess of the 9000 alot. As to inter-changing parts between the two, not alot in common. The suspension is totally different, the DI is the same. The older 9000 uses 4-bolt patterns, newer ones (93/94 onwards) uses 5-bolt pattern rims. I couldn't use my 9000 rims on my ng900. Other electrical components might be interchangeable (such as AIC, etc) but not with earlier 9000 (I know that for fact). I found the 9000 board to have highly skilled (technically & narrative) people around which earned my respect for ever. A great bunch of information, thanks to this website, Saab owners like me and you have a back to fall back onto. You can't go wrong with a well-maintained 9000 and if I had to do it again (which I will one day) I'd be looking for one that hasn't changed many hands (one or two owners, at the most).
