I have it and I love it. Some cautions.
1. The biggest issue is lousy battery life. If you get the carkit w/ speaker and charger, that makes it no problem in the car.
2. Upgrade!-- Garmin has been great on providing free upgrade software on their website so make sure you load the latest version as there were some annoying early bugs.
3.I also recommend you get at least a 128MB card to store map detail. The basemap included is good, but in order to do turn by turn you need the detail.
4. Also, it uses the basic Palm platform but includes very little other apps.
The other thing is because of the lousy battery life it is of little use as a handhelod gps which is a disapppointment.
As far as car trips go though, it has been amazing and very user friendly.
Hope that helps.
