So like a fool I’ve been taken. I agreed to purchase a set of Abbott springs from Chatham Sinclair, who also posts as CookinSPG in reply to an ad on another board. Normally I only pay for things from individuals by PayPal. Chatham asked if I could wire him the money. This raised a red flag for me but I asked around and a few people knew him so I agreed. He was all kinds of anxious to get his money. He even called me once to see if I had wired the money because he supposedly had to pay his car insurance. So I did so as per agreement. This was on Saturday January 17th 2004. One the next Wednesday I still hadn’t heard back so I decided to email him. He said, “i got the cash thanks, i'm gonna ship them out the end of the week, i'll email you with the tracking # then, i'll keep in touch thanks chatham”. Right. A week went by. I sent subsequent emails with no reply. Finally in late February I sent him the following, “Chatham,
I still have not received my springs. I have emailed you and received no responses. I must have either the springs or my money back by next weekend. I wired the money to you as per your request against my better judgment. Now I know why I do not do that.
Please respond immediately with a resolution.” He responded, “sorry dude they were sent out the end of the week. Chatham”. Riiiight. Uh-huh, still no springs. Now the dude doesn’t even return my emails.
So enough of my whining basically do not buy from this dude. That is so shady. It’s a shame when someone in the community takes advantage of someone and doesn’t deliver the product. I guess it’s partially my fault. Buyers beware I suppose. I guess my only recourse is letting everone know about him.
