I think the single-player mission is excellent. Not as good as the original Half Life, Deus Ex or System Shock2 but certainly at the prices you can get it for now it's worth it. If your desire is to play online I know folks at work who played that game incessantly for about 2 years until the recent release of UT2004, but I never played the multiplayer that much. Internet gaming against real people is definitely a completely different thing than playing against human-programmed AI. I played Quake 3 until I began to worry about carpal tunnel and had to give it up.
