Took a quick look at the "True Cost to own" section of Edmunds website to compare the cost of owning a 9-2X (using the cost of a 2004 Impreza WRX wagon) versus a 9-3 Arc and a 9-5 Arc.
Five year ownership cost
Impreza WRX $34,573
9-3 Arc 43,810
9-5 Arc 46,203
The five year cost of ownership is defined as including depreciation, financing, insurance, taxes & fees, fuel, maintenance and repairs.
Even if the 9-2X is priced a bit higher than the Subaru version, the 9-2X would still have a significant cost of ownership advantage over the 9-3 and 9-5.
