I went karting today at Lime Rock! Posted by andy [Email] (#759) [Profile/Gallery] (more from andy) on Thu, 27 May 2004 17:42:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A corporate event had guys from several companies involved in a deal attend an all day go kart event held at Lime Rock Park as a celebration.
This was one of the best events I ever attended!
It was pure sex, at the end of the day you were energized, relieved, relaxed, tired and sweaty. And I didn't have to buy dinner!
Although the carts were powered by Honda 4 stroke singles with centrifical clutches, the close quarters, mix of experienced (most, including the boss)and inexperienced riders (me))it was fast paced, challenging and terrific. Not sure what it cost, but if you ever get a chance to try Johan Schwartz Endurance Karting, do it! (I'm not connected with them in any way.)
Although I was middle of the pack in most of the events of the day and spun once, my personal best lap was 42:47, the best of the most experienced guy was 40:99! We quit 4 hours ago and my arms are tired and my sides hurt from the corners and laughing all the time. By the end of the day it came together and I was flying.
One note, as I have been driving FWD cars for years, the ability to let the rear get loose to aid speed in the corners took a while to come back, a primordial skill that should be refreshed once in a while.
Look these guys up and try them if you can!
