The problem you cite is common to sand.
I use stone dust, which is finely ground up rocks. It makes a better base than sand under the bricks (or flagstones, pavers, whatever) and once settled doesn't come out easily from between the bricks. It will pack very tightly and the bricks won't move.
Don't know about the stuff you are using now. It does sound interesting, though.
