Hi Fellow Saabers,

I and my Saab buddy Mel have been running into bad luck in 2004. Anyone having this much bad things happen to them this year?

Me:
February - My NG900SET engine blew (Mel driving) a lower rod and put a gaping hole in the lower block while returning from picking up another SPG.
Three days later, that SPG blew out something in the drivetrain (I haven't had a chance to find out what it is yet.)
June - I finally completed the engine swap on the '96, but no turbo boost. Also, CEL light and SRS light came on. I tried to make it to Saab shop (1 hour from home)before they closed. But instead, I received my first ticket in 7 years doing 62 in 45 zone. And I didn't make it there in time. That '96 has been nothing but trouble, including this rare ticket! (My wife HATES Saabs because of this car. Can you imagine living with someone that loathes your hobby and enjoyment? That's why I am jealous when I hear of couples that enjoy anything together.)

Mel (A lot worse than me):
- String of tickets driving to and from Ohio to see his girlfriend. I think next one gets him in jail in OH.
- He was driving with his girlfriend in her 9-3 conv, when a tire fell off from semi-truck and did a number on her car. They weren't hurt, but car needed $5000 worth of repair.
- Mel receives speeding ticket in Michigan 2 weeks ago.
- Yesterday, he drove me to pick up another SPG. On the way back, the hood flew open on his Viggen convertible on the highway (I was driving). Damaged hood, fenders, and front glass. I wasn't hurt, but I feel sooooo bad. Probably around $3000 in damage.
- This morning he called. Another ticket in Detroit.

The year of 2004 is not even half over... Sympathy requested from fellow Saabers, as we have our heads hung low, depressed, and sighing. What can you do but laugh? Anyone know a good trick to turn around bad luck? Just venting some frustration.... Ah that feels a little better. Sorry for long message.
