Saab "factory buybacks" as used cars

My local Saab dealer is selling two 2003 9-5 Arc wagons. Both cars are factory buybacks, have less than 5,000 miles, and the asking prices are approx. $4,000 less than the going rate. The dealer has offered to print out their complete repair histories and other paperwork related to their problems... over the telephone he said that both of the cars were bought back by Saab because they were close to running afoul of the NY lemon laws (very stringent)... one of the cars required repeated trips to a dealer to fix a stalling problem related to the fuel system and the other was out of service for weeks while a dealer chased an intermittent electrical problem that required waiting for and replacement of one of the wiring looms. They carry the balance of the 4yr./50,000 mile factory warranty (without any limitations) but they cannot be Saab Certified used cars because they were factory buybacks.
Questions:
Would you buy one of these cars?
Is a $4,000 - $6,000 discount (he seemed very willing to negotiate) "the going rate" in these situations?
Most of my life, I would have run like hell from something like this... but in early 1998 I was able to pick up a 9000CSE with only 11,000 miles on it for just over $25k because it had been a rental... it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned and is still going strong at 165,000 miles with VERY few repairs.
Thanks in advance for any comments, personal experiences etc.
